Chef Abdel Belkadi
Chef Abdel Belkadi began his career in the food industry over twenty-five years ago, working at successful hotel restaurants in France and Morocco. Before becoming the Executive Chef at York University, he was the head chef at two outstanding restaurants in downtown Toronto. His success at these restaurants brought him a great deal of media attention, from a feature spot on Breakfast Television, to being listed as the top restaurant by Toronto Life Magazine. Chef Abdel has a proud and renowned history of gourmet cooking in the city.
Chef Abdel has a vast amount of experience working in the higher education and institutional food service sectors. Before joining the Aramark team, he worked as the head chef at Glendon College and Humber College. Next, he continued to lead the Aramark culinary team at the University of Toronto both Scarborough and Toronto campuses. He now resides at the Keele campus, where he has been now for over two years.
Chef Abdel has a passion for travelling and was educated as a chef in Morocco. He brings this cultural and European flavor into his special entrees. Chef Abdel always supports healthier menu options and caters to dietary needs such as gluten-free, halal, vegan, vegetarian and sustainable options.
