Our Meal Plans for 2019-2020 offer incredible choice, flexibility and value!
Students living in residence accommodations where Meal Plans are mandatory must select one of the Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum packages.
Students living in suite-style accommodations with kitchens may optionally purchase any of the packages listed below.
|PACKAGE||TOTAL COST||MEAL PLAN||TAXABLE PLAN|
The Meal Plan dollars cannot be used to purchase taxable beverages and snacks (e.g. carbonated beverages, potato chips, granola bars) unless you purchase these items as part of a meal.
The Taxable Plan dollars may be used to purchase taxable beverages and snacks when you are not purchasing them as part of a meal under the Meal Plan. You may opt out of the initial Taxable Plan allocation by visiting the YU-card Office after you move in to residence.
You can add additional Meal Plan or Flex dollars to your YU-card at any time. Flex dollars are accepted at locations across campus and can be used to pay for food and snacks at campus eateries, books and supplies at the York University Bookstore, printing and photocopying, residence laundry machines, and goods and services at participating off-campus merchants. Flex dollars do not expire and are refundable upon request.
Meal Plan dollars will be available as of August 31, 2019. Any unspent Meal Plan dollars will be transferred to the Taxable account at the end of the Meal Plan term on April 26, 2020, subject to a $50 administration fee. These dollars may be used in subsequent years to purchase food on a taxable basis if you remain enrolled at York U. Unspent Meal Plan dollars that are carried-forward in the Taxable account will expire if you cease to be enrolled at York. Meal Plan dollars and those funds that are carried-forward in the Taxable account are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to the Flex account. See Terms of Agreement for details.
